I’ve created THE FIRST EVER, HOPEFULLY ANNUAL, CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS AWARD FOR HUMOUR WRITING! Christopher Hitchens was that British dude who wrote a series of completely earnest essays for Vanity Fair about how women are inherently less funny than men. So this is a prize for the best piece of satire or humour writing by a Canadian woman or non-binary writer. Second City has agreed to partner with me on it, and the winner will get $1000 cash and a free Second City writing class. I’m in the process of raising funds for the prize, as well as some addition money to compensate the judges. I’d be so grateful if you’re able to help! You can find the GoFundMe page right here.
