IT’S REAL, IT’S REAL! My first kids’ book, KATRINA HYENA, STAND-UP COMEDIAN, has been officially released into the world. It’s a story about a laughing hyena who laughs at the wrong times. I’m forever grateful to Owlkids Books for publishing it, as well as Aparna Varma for her hilarious and vibrant illustrations. I’ve created THE FIRST EVER, HOPEFULLY ANNUAL, CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS AWARD FOR HUMOUR WRITING! Christopher Hitchens was that British dude who wrote a series of completely earnest essays for Vanity Fair about how women are inherently less funny than men. So this is a prize for the best piece of satire or humour writing by a Canadian woman or non-binary writer. Second City has agreed to partner with me on it, and the winner will get $1000 cash and a free Second City writing class.
